Why Lease The Volkswagen Transporter?
The Volkswagen Transporter has been in VW’s range for 65 years, and during this time it has become one of the most highly respected vans on the market. Since the first Transporter was born, millions have been manufactured to serve drivers and tradesmen the world over.
With a wide selection of panel vans, kombis and customisable chassis cabs available in a choice of wheelbases, roof heights and payload options, there’s a VW Transporter van lease suitable for many different jobs. The van is ideal for moving heavy loads, people, or a combination of the two depending on which version you go for. The driving position is tall, giving a good clear field of vision, with a nicely placed arm rest and a high mounted easy to reach gear lever, all for making those long motorway spins comfortable. Given its size, one notable factor with the Transporter is its car like qualities, not just the interior, but also its smooth refined driving, responsive steering and handling. It performs extremely well in urban areas, with a turning circle of 11.9m, making it perfect for those mini roundabouts and tight parking areas. Truly adaptable for motorway, urban and extra urban situations.
More Reasons To Lease The Transporter?
- Adjustable steering wheel (height & rake)
- Four powerful diesel engines
- Two body lengths
- Three roof heights
- Six or Eight floor tethers (depending on wheel base)
Engine, Fuel and Emissions
The advanced TDI engines in the range are powerful and very efficient, boasting combined fuel economy figures of up to 44.8mpg and C02 emissions of 166g/km. If you need to tackle rough terrain, the optional 4MOTION® drive train (VW’s 4 wheel drive) will take you where other vans can’t!
All Transporters come with a 2.0l TDI (diesel) engine, with a variety of power outputs ranging from 84ps to 204ps, depending on whether you will be nipping around the town or needing longer legs for motorway driving. All 6th generation Transporter engines include BlueMotion Technology as standard, which features Start/Stop technology, regenerative braking and low rolling resistance tyres to cut those fuel cost whilst being friendly to the environment.
The Transporter’s Load Carrying Ability
The Transporter has an impressive load volume of up to 9.3 cubic metres and they’re capable of moving payloads up to 1,340KGs, too. The side door opens wide enough to allow a Euro pallet through and the short base model Transporter can carry two Euro pallets, whilst the long based model can carry three. Don’t forget though, the combination of wheel bases and roof heights provides a variety of 5 load capacities, one to surely suit your needs.
Rubberised flooring provides extra grip to your load, reducing it from sliding around during transit, protects the van’s flooring from damage and also acts as a damper to reduce noise inside your van.
Arriving Safely and In Style
The sixth generation Transporter has rolled out with a series of improvements. These include Volkswagen’s BlueMotion technology that features Energy Regeneration on braking, low rolling resistance tyres and stop/start technology all of which are designed to help save on fuel. VW have even designed a specific BlueMotion model to further add to this fuel efficiency by means of improved aerodynamics and a lighter body shell.
Although a mid-range van, the Volkswagen Transporter is genuinely a great all round vehicle to have. It is one of the best vans to drive, it is comfortable, quiet, very stable at motorway speeds and handles well.
