Van Leasing Review :
The Mercedes Vito
Today Lorraine reviews the Mercedes Vito to see if the premium panel van is worth those few extra bucks!
Like all things Mercedes, the Vito is a premium product and it aims to bring a bit of class and refinement to the mid-sized panel van market. It comes in a number of other configurations including window van and crew van/minibus formats but today we’re just looking at the panel van. We want to find out if the Vito is worth the few extra pounds each month compared to its main rivals and we want to answer that all important question - could a new Vito be the perfect van lease for your business? Let’s find out:
Versatility is one of the biggest selling points of the Mercedes Vito. It has compact, long and extra long load length options as well 2 roof height options. This allows you to select a configuration that’s perfectly suited to your commercial needs. Payload capacities range from 4.65m3 to 6.49m3.
Loading and unloading is a breeze with side sliding doors that are wide enough to allow a forklift access for a standard Euro pallet – quite impressive for a van of its size. Once it’s in there your load is well secured with loading eyelets, Mercedes rail load system and a number of other load protection features.
Step inside the cab and the refined and premium feel is immediately apparent. This feels more like a luxury car than it does a panel van. Dials and buttons have a high quality feel, everything is within easy reach and the layout in general has clearly been well thought out to create a real feeling of comfort. The cab is spacious for both driver and passenger even on those longer journeys.
On the Road
Great driving experience isn’t something you’d usually associate with a panel van but the Mercedes Vito does a great job of making you forget you’re driving a van at all. The drive is refined, steering is responsive and engine noise and vibration is minimal… and then there’s the engines themselves. 88bhp, 109bhp, 150bhp and 213bhp engines are available. The 88bhp option offers more than enough power if you’re carrying light-to-medium loads but the 109 and 150bhp options offer increased torque, power and speed to make the driving experience much more enjoyable. The V6 213bhp engine turns the Vito into a performance-enhanced sports machine – it’s a ride you won’t forget in a hurry!
As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for and that’s never truer than with the Mercedes Vito van. You’ll pay that bit more than you would for one of it’s main rivals but the difference in quality is clear. This is a premium van that has quality fittings and features, a refined drive, will hold its value well and will last you many years of hard graft. Overall the Vito is a great van leasing deal.View the Range >>
